Our membership runs yearly from January thru December.
Dues are $15 for an individual or $20 for a family. Membership dues may be paid by cash or check at our meetings. |

Here are the highlights of our 2025 Program:
Feb 16th We kick off with Julie and Susan presenting their whirl wind tour this summer of some AMAZING hosta growers and their gardens – The Excellent Midwest Hosta Visit on Facebook captured some of their once in a lifetime trip. I feel many of us will be inspired to visit these wonderful places after hearing all about them. The Board will provide refreshments. Meeting location – Brahan Spring Rec Center starting at 2 PM unless otherwise noted.
March 16th our speaker will be John Brumbaugh (The Bee Guy). I promise you will learn something new, even if you are a bee expert. He will also bring his local honey to sell which is delicious!
April 12th (Saturday) we are so lucky that our Board Secretary, Karen Scott is hosting us at her home in New Market to tour her property and see the largest field of blue bonnets in N Al! We will be hosting our plant swap after the tour – rain or shine. We will send details about time and location soon. And Karen can accommodate anyone by golf cart if you are unable to walk the tour. I’m so excited for this tour!!
The Plant Sale is May 10th at the Madison County Farmers Market (same location) and we will have even more vendors this year.
We are lucky to have two garden tours this year, so in lieu of the picnic in June, we want to encourage everyone to sign up and attend the American Hosta Society National Convention June 19-22 in Peoria, IL. We are very fortunate to have the location so close to home this year.
July 19th - We plan to have a hosta fellowship luncheon (Dutch treat) Time /location TBD
August 17th – We are hosting Bob Solberg (yay!) as our guest speaker and will be back at The Rec Center 2 PM. Very happy to have Bob returning this year.
Bob is planning to hold the Dixie Regionals in Atlanta Sept 13-14th. Information is available under the Dixie Regionals tab at the top of this page.
Sept 21st we end the 2025 season with a tour of Herb Lewis’s garden in the Blossomwood neighborhood / Huntsville, where we will learn about the beloved birds in our region while touring his garden.
